Dentists Accepting New Patients in Chicago

What to Expect at Your First Visit at Dental Professionals

We want to thank you for visiting the Dental Professionals website! Whether you are new to the Chicagoland area or a lifelong resident, we welcome the chance to serve you in any way we can. Our doctors are currently accepting new patients at both our Chicago and Skokie offices. With convenient hours and locations, we will work with you to accommodate your busy schedule.

Convenient Online Registration

Your first visit with us begins before arriving at the office.  We offer easy and secure online registration, which can be done at any time before your appointment—from your home, office, or any connected device.  This allows our doctors to review your health and dental history, and current concerns, prior to your visit.

If you are unable to do this ahead of time, our staff can walk you through the registration at our office, using one of our tablets (we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early, if you plan to register on-site).  Of course, your information is always sent and stored with secure, HIPAA-compliant methods.

Patient Amenities

skokie4Upon arrival at our office, you will be warmly greeted and are welcome to take a tour of our facility—we’re very proud of both of our recently renovated spaces!  You’ll note that music is softly playing in the background and that all treatment rooms have flat-panel TVs with relaxing scenery playing.  We provide the following amenities for your comfort:

  • Bottled water
  • Coffee bar
  • Freshly baked cookies
  • Complimentary headphones (yours to keep!)
  • Phone chargers
  • Reading glasses (Skokie office)

Timely Appointments

skokie2

Unlike many dental offices, our doctors are never double or triple booked.  Your appointment time is set aside for you alone.  We know that starting care with a new provider can be a stressful experience and have found the best way to overcome this is to spend quality time getting to know you (and vice versa) at the first visit.

Initial Exam

skokie3As personalized service is at the heart of our care, you will be promptly introduced to your doctor at the very start of your appointment.  You will have a chance to share your concerns and for the doctor to review with you your dental and medical history.  Any necessary imaging will be taken.  Your exam will be comfortable and typically consists of:

  • a head, neck, and mouth cancer screening
  • examination of your jaw joints
  • a thorough exam of your gums and the structures around your teeth
  • a detailed exam of each tooth
  • an evaluation of your bite and how your teeth come contact one another

Next Steps

For healthy patients, a modern and thorough dental cleaning will typically follow the initial exam.  On request, this can often be scheduled for the same day.  For patients with minimal needs, your doctor may recommend further care and schedule the necessary appointments with you.

For patients with significant needs, a second appointment to gather detailed planning records may be scheduled.  This too is a totally comfortable appointment, often consisting of photographs, digital scans or impressions of the teeth, and special techniques to understand your bite and jaw movements.  Records vary based on your individual condition.

Personalized Dental-Wellness Plan

All patients, regardless of their oral health status, receive a personalized dental wellness plan.  This plan is individually and holistically tailored to your physical and emotional health.  Your plan may change with time, as your health and dental needs evolve.  Learn more about our philosophy of care here:  Mission and Approach.

Treatment Conference

After any necessary records have been made, patients with significant dental needs will have a treatment conference scheduled with their doctor.  This takes place in one of our private consultation rooms—not a dental chair—so that you can comfortably sit, ask questions, and come to fully understand your oral health status and the proposed treatment options to address your needs.

Copies of your records and plans will be provided and you will have all the time you need to become fully educated.  It is our belief that educated patients are better empowered to actively participate in their care, yielding the best long term results.Treatment Conference 2
