Bryan P. Jacobs DMD, MS, FACP
Board-Certified Prosthodontist in Chicago
Dr. Jacobs is one of only three prosthodontists in private practice in Chicago who is board-certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is the only board-certified prosthodontist practicing in the North Shore.
Dr. Jacobs is a graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (2010) and the University of Michigan, College of Engineering (2006). Following dental school, he completed a three-year residency program in prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prosthodontics is the specialty of dentistry focusing on the replacement of missing teeth using the highest standards of care. Dr. Jacobs is formally trained in complex rehabilitation, digital dentistry, as well as implant surgery, and restoration.
Dr. Jacobs served four years as a clinical professor at the University of Illinois— Chicago, School of Dentistry. He has published abstracts and articles in multiple international journals. Dr. Jacobs’ implant research earned him a place as a John J. Sharry Research Competition Finalist. At Harvard, he was President of his dental class and was recognized with the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Leader Award and the Dr. Norman B. Nesbett Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. At graduation, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Jacobs currently lectures to other dentists and specialists on the topics of immediate implants (same-day implants), the relationship between gum health and overall systemic health, and gummy smile correction. His most recent published article examines bone grafting at the time of same-day implants. It is titled A Randomized Controlled Trial Evaluating Grafting the Facial Gap at Immediately Placed Implants and is featured in the March 2020 edition of the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. His 2013 article on gummy smile correction has, as of 2021, been cited by other authors in 31 subsequent articles on the topic.
Dr. Jacobs is an active member of

- the Chicago Dental Society.
He volunteers at the Care Free Dental Clinic for underserved populations. Also of note, Dr. Jacobs is married to a fellow dental specialist, together raising their three young children.
